The Doctor Strange Dilemma

Will Doctor Strange show up in WandaVision?

WandaVision has brought up a lot of questions and has set up so many potential circumstances in the MCU. So much so that several articles could be written just to cover everything WandaVision has done. The main thing, however, it has put in question is the creditability of Doctor Strange as The Sorceror Supreme.

Where has Dr. Stephen Strange been?

As Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange is supposed to be the line of defense against all things magic. If anything magical occurs that presents a danger, he is supposed to be aware. We have seen him take this role seriously in the MCU when he took Loki as he saw the God of Mischief being on Earth as a potential threat. So why in the world has he not been involved in this series at all whatsoever?

In the latest episode, which was episode eight, it was one hundred percent confirmed that Wanda is indeed a witch and her abilities are magic based. So why wouldn't her making an entire town bend to her will draw his attention? It attracted the attention of another witch Agatha Harkness. Agatha even came to the realization that Wanda is a Scarlet Witch meaning she is a wielder of chaos magic which is supposedly the most powerful type of magic. Are you trying to tell me The Sorcerer Supreme had no idea of this? Were Wanda's abilities not on Doctor Strange's radar?

I know Stephen hasn't technically had the role very long, but if Scarlet Witches and chaos magic are as big of a deal as Harkness describes, wouldn't even an inexperienced Sorcerer Supreme intervene knowing the seriousness of the matter. I'm hoping Wanda's involvement in the forthcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness clears up some of this; however, I at the very least need an after-credits cameo in the season finale to restore some of Doctor Strange's creditability. I would prefer Benedict to be a key role in the finale, but I know beggars can't be choosers.

All of this needs to be cleared up soon because it does not sit well with me, and I'm sure if I feel this way, I'm sure others do too. Right now, the argument could be made that Agatha Harkness would be a better Sorcerer Supreme as she has been around longer, has better knowledge of sorcery, and also has a keen ability to sense magic. Weirdly Agatha helped Wanda discover her magic a bit through questionable methods, but she did. This is something Strange should've done and presumably will in Multiverse of Madness. Another thing with Stange that will need to be cleared up is Agatha. Having been around since before the Salem Witch trials, surely tabs were being kept on her. If not, then how was she able to stay out of The Sorcerer Supreme's radar all these years?

WandaVision has brought up so many questions, as I said, and a number of them deal with Doctor Strange, as I covered in this article. I, for one, can not wait to see the answers all unfold as the MCU moves forward and grows in ways we never even fathomed.
