The Book of Boba Fett

Splyke Breaks-Down the monumental announcement of "The Book of Boba Fett"

Earlier today there was a tweet on the Star Wars Twitter account, that displayed the anticipated series The Book of Boba Fett along with the announcement of a new Executive Producer on the new original series, Robert Rodriguez:

As many of you know, the season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, Chapter 16, The Rescue, not only was the return of our loving hero, Luke Skywalker in all his master Jedi glory but also towards the end credit scene; we’re back on Tatooine at Jabba’s palace as we see a very stout Bib Fortuna sitting where his former master sat in RoTJ, but there is a throne. He is interrupted by Fennec Shand, who guns down the guards and set’s a slave female Twi’lek free. Boba Fett waltz to the center, facing off against Bib then blasting him on the throne. The scene ends with Boba sitting on the throne while Fennec takes a set beside him; she guzzles a jug of blue liquid. Fade into black with the title of the series and the December 2021 release.

Boba Fett is getting the respect he deserves

This scene still gives me nerdy chills on what to expect regarding the future of Star Wars lore, and we will get a true story to show how badass this character is as he has shown in comics and novels.

Jon Favreau made an appearance on Good Morning America earlier today, giving us small details on the series and the next season of The Mandalorian season 3:

  • It has been confirmed to be a different series from The Mandalorian season three and will occur within the same timeline.

  • The Book of Boba Fett is considered the next chapter, and the crew is starting pre-production on The Mandalorian season three while working on the new series.

  • Temuera Morrison stars as Boba Fett, along with Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand. Robert Rodriguez — who directed Chapter 14 of The Mandalorian, joins Favreau and Dave Filoni as executive producer.

  • Filoni is currently working on Ahsoka, also coming to Disney+.

I am so glad that this was not part of the Disney Investor day because we wouldn’t have had this juicy, well-deserved surprise for the fans who have wanted a Boba Fett movie for a long time to redeem the best bounty hunter in the far, far away galaxy and now we are getting it in a series that might play a factor in a significant Star Wars series cross over event that I can see Disney building up towards.
