2020 Slammy's Recap

Rundown of the 2020 Slammy Awards

In case you didn't know, forgot, or simply didn't care to watch the 2020 Slammy Awards on the WWE Network, I've got you covered. This year WWE decided to bring back a traditional awards show concept to the Slammy's. The extremely hilarious 24/7 Champion R-Truth hosted the show.

Leading up to the show, fans were able to vote for a few of the categories. The voteable categories were Male Superstar of the Year, Female Superstar of the Year, Return of the Year, TagTeam of the Year, Match of the Year, and Superstar of the Year. The Slammy's usually don't mean much in the wrestling world and are just an attempt at fan involvement, but they are mostly pointless. Sometimes, however, they do set up potential rivalries, storylines, and new directions. This year's show delivered funny moments from Truth and had special guests present the nominees and winners.

Male Superstar of the Year

The first award was presented by HBK and went to current WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, beating Roman Reigns, The Fiend, Braun Strowman, and Randy Orton.
